Random Forests Workshop

On 28/2 Jolanta Rieksta held Random forests workshop at VOLT. Random forests is a well-established machine learning algorithm. One way it can be used is to assess whether the emission patterns of individual BVOCs could be used to classify the samples into groups and to identify the compounds responsible for the potential separation. 

The workshop was well attended and people worked with their own datasets - from microbial data collected with PTR-TOF-MS and GC-MS to the forest floor data from the mountain birch forest in Abisko.
